May 18: SOFREP report by Luke Ryan states that since the announcement in 2005, Pakistan has developed plans and made efforts toward building an approximate 1,500 mile fence running along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. This is an effort to hinder the Taliban’s freedom of maneuver between the countries, as well as drug runners. Pakistan aims to spend approximately $483 million in constructing the fence line, which will mostly be chain-link alongside concertina wire running on top; guards are also to be posted more frequently along the new fence. In addition, Balochistan Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani said that an “11-foot deep and 14-foot wide ditch will be dug along the entire stretch of the border.”

Mohammad Rizwan named Pakistan T20I vice-captain
January 10: Cricinfo reported The Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] has appointed Mohammad Rizwan as the vice-captain of the T20I side ahead of the team's five-match series against New Zealand. January 9: DAWN has reported Former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested by Rawalpindi police in at least a dozen cases pertaining to the May 9 violence, including the attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ), as an accountability court in Islamabad indicted him and former first lady Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana reference on Tuesday. Two more cops on polio duty martyred in Bannu
January 10: The Express Tribune reported At least two policemen deployed for polio duty in the Teri Ram area of Bannu district were martyred while three others injured during a gunfight with unidentified armed men on Tuesday. One of the three attackers was killed, the other was taken into custody in an injured condition while the third one managed to escape. Read more I
