ISLAMABAD: The Kashmir Committee in Jeddah unanimously adopted a resolution on Monday to condemn the ongoing atrocities in Indian-administered Kashmir, even as it urged New Delhi to grant international human rights organizations unhindered access to the state.
According to an official statement circulated by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah, the committee also condemned the unprovoked firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC), accusing it of targeting civilian areas.
Committee members stressed on the fact that the mounting tensions between Pakistan and India, and the current catastrophic situation in Indian-administered Kashmir, was due to the non-resolution of the dispute between the two countries.
The committee also urged India to implement the UN Security Council's resolutions on Kashmir and commended Pakistan for its unconditional political, moral, and diplomatic support toward the Kashmiri struggle.
The committee also expressed its gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for their consistent support to the Kashmiri people.
