In a bid to enhance the efficiency of integrated waste management services, Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center (Tadweer), in partnership with Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), hosted a workshop to highlight the professional standards for personnel working in sweeping, collecting, transporting, and disposing general waste in the emirate.
The workshop highlighted Tadweer’s commitment to maintaining competitiveness and continuing to develop the waste management sector to contribute to the emirate’s sustainable growth. This will in turn create an enabling environment for specialized companies to boost investments in this important economic sector.
The workshop outlined the measures taken by Tadweer to improve the quality of life across the emirate, and ensure that the environmental service providers in the emirate adhere to relevant regulations and safety standards.
Dr. Salem Al-Kaabi, general manager of Tadweer, said: “This workshop is aligned with Tadweer’s strategic objective of stepping up collaboration with its partners from the government and private sectors to develop standardized measures to protect the environment and promote sustainable development in the emirate. “
Saif Al-Bakri, director of conformity services at QCC, said: “The development of personnel certification schemes by QCC articulates its continued efforts to promote a culture of quality and develop a highly efficient quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi in line with the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan that aims to build a competitive, sustainable and globally-integrated economy.”
