As the first woman to graduate from the journalism department at Yarmouk University, Caroline Faraj made a name for herself through establishing CNN Arabic. 

Fluent in both Arabic and English, Faraj was in charge of overseeing the launch of the CNN Arabic site in 2002. In 2015, CNN appointed Faraj as vice president of Arabic Services.

Before joining CNN, Faraj worked as a senior political reporter for Al Rai, the leading Arabic daily newspaper in Jordan. She was also managing editor for the Jordan Times and regional correspondent for US Defense News. 

Faraj’s proficiency in English, gained from her various travels to cover international conferences, highly advanced her career. In 1990, Faraj represented the Jordanian delegation in Washington, D.C. to cover the Arab-Israeli peace process.
