In 2021, Apple announced that it would establish an Apple Developer Academy in Riyadh, the first one in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Academy will be dedicated to providing tools and training for aspiring female programmers, developers and designers so that they can establish startups and create jobs in iOS app development.

The move will also bolster women’s empowerment and other social reforms under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project.

In 2019, Apple topped the list of the YouGov BrandIndex Workforce Rankings in Saudi Arabia. The rankings were compiled using the reputation score from YouGov’s BrandIndex by asking respondents: Would you be proud or embarrassed to work for this brand?
