Kosai Khauli is an award-winning Syrian actor who started out his career as a law student for two years, but who then decided to pursue acting studies at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, Syria, from which he graduated in 1999. 

Despite the modesty of Syrian cinema, Khauli carved a name for himself in Arab cinema and TV. He portrayed the king of Egypt, Isma’il Pasha, in the 2014 historic TV drama “Saraya Abdeen” which was aired on MBC. 

A critically acclaimed actor, Khauli received the Best Arab Actor Award in 2006 for his role in the series “Deers in the Forest of Wolves,” and won the same award in 2011 for his role in the “Takht Sharqi” series. He also received two Murex D’or awards.
