ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy ship Tabuk on Saturday visited Bahrain's Manama as part of regional maritime security patrols, the Pakistan Navy said.
Upon arrival at the Mina Salman port, the Pakistani naval ship was received by Pakistan's ambassador Muhammad Ayub along with the Commander of Combined Task Force 150 Commodore Vaqar Muhammad, naval and air attaché of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia and officials from Pakistani and Bahraini naval forces.
During the stay at port, PNS Tabuk Commanding Officer Captain Muhammad Umair called on Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces (RBNF) Rear Admiral Muhammad Yousif Al-Asam, Acting Commander Bahrain Coast Guard Brigadier Hamad Bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa and Deputy Commander Bahrain Coast Guard Brigadier Jasim Mohamed Al-Gatam.
"During the meetings, matters of mutual interests and cooperation were discussed," the Pakistan Navy said in a statement.
"Commanding Officer highlighted Pakistan's efforts in promoting peace and security in the region and Pakistan Navy's firm resolve to deal with emerging challenges in maritime domain."
He conveyed sincere regards from Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Bahrain and the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces.
The commanding officer also called on officials of the Combined Maritime Force, including Deputy Commander Commodore Aldrain Fryer.
The Pakistan Navy said it believed in promoting peace and was committed to maritime security and order at sea. The port visit would help strengthen bilateral ties and further enhance interoperability between both navies, it added.
