Kuwait comes in fifth among Arab countries in the 2022 Brand Finance Global Soft Power Index, with a global rank of 36, up by four positions from 2021 when it was a new entrant. 

In sports, Kuwait has won a record ten championships in the Gulf Cup tournament. It was the first state to win the Asian Cup and the first Gulf Cooperation Council state to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 1982. 

Kuwait also scores high in areas of entertainment, theater and TV sitcoms. 

Many GCC officials have also obtained their college education from Kuwait University, the first university in the GCC, which opened its doors in 1966.
