Maryam Al-Suwaidi is the first female CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority in the UAE. 

She is responsible for strengthening the legislative framework for the development of capital markets in the UAE, including the Dubai Financial Market, Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, and the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange. 

Al-Suwaidi has a Ph.D. in law from the University of Leeds. In September 2021, the Financial Action Task Force accredited Al-Suwaidi as the first Emirati female assessor expert in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
