Doctor issuing fake reports blacklisted: A doctor in Ahsa was blacklisted and the clinic which employed him fined SR15,000 when it was established that he issued medical reports without conducting proper tests. The doctor was also accused of signing blank report forms, which were filled out later. He was also asked to pay a personal fine of SR10,000 and will not be allowed to practice in the Kingdom.
Seven expats killed as bus overturns: Seven expatriate laborers were killed and nine injured when a minibus overturned on the road leading to Janadriah near Riyadh on Monday. The accident occurred while the expatriates were on their way to work. The injured were admitted in Riyadh Central Hospital and King Abdul Aziz Medical Center. The cause of the accident is not known.
Fire destroys shops near Grand Mosque: A massive fire Tuesday afternoon gutted 14 shops in a popular market close to the Grand Mosque in Makkah. A 36-year-old Saudi woman suffered near-suffocation in the accident. A firefighter was also injured during the rescue operation. Several buildings close to shops where the fire broke out have been blackened by smoke. A Civil Defense source said the cause of the fire was not clear.
Pakistani killed in car crash: A Pakistani was killed and eight others were injured in a traffic accident when two cars collided head-on at the Kilo 145 on the Madinah Road. The accident occurred when one of the cars involved in the accident entered the expressway from the wrong side. Drivers of both the cars were Saudis. The dead man is identified as Amir Muhammad.
Boy drowns while swimming: A 13-year-old boy, Ali Abdullah Yusuf, drowned in a pool in Al-Darb on Saturday. The boy was swimming in the pool with his friends. He fainted when his head hit that of a friend and sank under the water. His friends called for help when he did not reappear. However, by the time help came he was dead.
Three expats arrested for robbery: Two Indians and a Pakistani allegedly attacked a 28-year-old man and robbed him of SR20,000 at a lonely area in the border city of Arar. A patrol team tracked down the three expatriates and arrested them soon after the crime was reported to police.
Three-car pile-up claims three lives: Three people, including an infant, were killed in an accident involving three cars on the Abqaiq-Dammam road recently. Eight others injured in the accident were taken to Abqaiq General Hospital and Aramco Hospital in Dammam. The accident was blamed on heavy traffic on the narrow road.
