RIYADH: Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, secretary-general of the Muslim World League, received Karam Jabr, chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of Egyptian media leadership.
The meeting discussed intellectual and media issues in the Islamic and international arenas.
Al-Issa also announced the launch of an international conference on media responsibility, saying that the media plays an important role in terms of spreading facts and raising awareness with objectivity, impartiality and professionalism.
“Arab and Islamic media had a significant role in developing the media responsibility, as it has completed a rich record of achievements,” he said.
The MWL has launched several initiatives and programs in different parts of the world, with the aim of spreading the true image of Islam, as well as building bridges between the followers of various religions and cultures, he said.
