Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander was introduced in 2004. Along with other sidewinder products, The Strategic commander was designed specifically for strategy gamers including Age of Empires, Command and Conquer series and SimCity series. In this review we’ll take a look at features and performance and Gameplay:

Features:

• Program up to 72 commands: From simple to advanced competitive profiles, Strategic Commander can accommodate all styles of game play

• Unprecedented Versatility: With record-on-the-fly, program what you need without ever leaving the game!

• Custom Game Profiles: Try one of over 30 pre-programmed profiles for your favorite strategy games or create, edit, and share your own.

• Rotating Axis Control: Intuitive map control that makes even 3D games a breeze to navigate.

• Award Winning SideWinder Controller Software to tweak your device fingers in the nose.

• USB connection for fast & easy setup.

Performance and Gameplay:

Device and software setup was straightforward and trouble free. For the Gameplay, Some strategy games were well suited with the Microsoft Strategy Commander while others were awkward even with the presence of game profiles. Last of all, I tested first person shooters games and the results were unpleasant.

To finish off, Microsoft Sidewinder Commander is pretty much top notch with solid hardware architecture software design. The downfall is new games profiles are hardly available so the gamers must construct their own profiles. If you have the time and energy for it then you should be a proud owner of Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander.

Score: 7.5/10 GOOD
