RIYADH, 31 August 2005 — A prominent Indian Dr. Mohammed Mukhtar Khan, who served as the chairman of the International Indian Public School (IIPS or Seva school) until June this year, has been nominated for ‘Hind Ratan Award’ by the NRI Welfare Society of India. The award will be presented to Dr. Mukhtar on Jan. 26 next year on the occasion of India’s Republic Day celebrations. The award has been given to Dr. Mukhtar for his services and contributions to promote the causes of the Indian community abroad, particularly in the Gulf countries. Dr. Mukhtar will be one among 30 prominent NRIs, whose services to the community and excellence in different fields will be recognized this year, said Harbhajan Singh, secretary-general of the NRI Welfare Society, in a congratulatory message.
