RIYADH, 3 October 2006 — Lufthansa has announced to offer private jet facility, which can be used by businessmen and tourists travelling from Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries to various destinations in Europe. “With the Lufthansa Private Jet Service, customers can now travel in a private jet with greater exclusivity and flexibility,” said Rolf Koller, general manager for Swiss and Lufthansa airlines.
Koller also announced the airline’s plan to operate an additional frequency from Jeddah/Riyadh to Europe and vice versa from Dec. 2 this year.
Spelling out the salient features of this private jet facility, he said that “all the benefits of a journey in a private jet were combined with Lufthansa’s complete international route network and its wide range of renowned services.”
“Private jets are available in combination with Lufthansa long-haul trans-Atlantic flights to or from Frankfurt or Munich and also for point-to-point service, connecting more than 1,000 destinations in the EU, Switzerland and Norway,” he said.
He pointed out that one could book his/her Lufthansa private jet flight up to 24 hours before departure at an attractive price. “In fact, private jet passengers will enjoy first class privilege — such as undisturbed privacy on board, limousine transfer in Frankfurt and Munich between the terminal and the private jet as well as total discretion during the entire journey,” said Koller, adding that Lufthansa offers this service in cooperation with NetJets, the world’s leading operator of private jets.
He said that every Miles & More member would earn 10,000 miles per Lufthansa private jet flown. The Lufthansa service team is available to provide with advice and comprehensive information about the private jet facility.
One can contact the Lufthansa private jet service team at Riyadh 01-2792129 and Jeddah 02-6511388 or visit Lufthansa-private-jet.com for further information. The Riyadh-based Lufthansa office can also be contacted for availing this private jet facility.
Referring to the additional flight from Riyadh/Jeddah to Europe, Koller said, “A passenger can get to his/her chosen destination in Europe & USA with added convenience and flexibility with the introduction of the additional frequency.”
SWISS will introduce Saturday departure from Zurich to Riyadh and Sunday departure from Riyadh to Zurich. “With this additional frequency we, Lufthansa/SWISS, together will offer you daily non-stop flights from Riyadh to Europe and vice versa,” said Koller.
“In addition to Jeddah and Riyadh flights, Lufthansa operates six flights a week from Eastern Province — three out of Damman and three out of Bahrain,” he said.
“And on top of the seven flights from Jeddah/Riyadh and six out of Eastern Province, every customer has additional benefits like fare combinability, common frequent flyer and much more if you fly with Lufthansa/SWISS,” said the general manager.
He also spoke about other new services, especially after the merger of SWISS and Lufthansa operations in Saudi Arabia recently. In fact, the merger of Saudi-based operations of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and Lufthansa German Airlines, has led to offer uniform price for tickets and choice of flights besides destination options to thousands of passengers flying on these two airlines.
He said that the two airlines together operated 12 flights a week from the Kingdom to Frankfurt and Zurich. Globally, Lufthansa has also announced to expand and modernize its fleet and hence it has approved an order for 35 new aircraft.
From 2007, Lufthansa will take delivery of a total of 30 new short and medium-range aircraft. Lufthansa has also taken options on a further 30 aircraft of the A320 family. At present, Lufthansa’s long-haul fleet consists of 83 aircraft, including ten Airbus A330s.
