RIYADH, 7 March 2007 — Sama Airlines is offering a unified price of SR55.88 to any destination in the Kingdom for a limited period. This follows its first “successful” offer of 10,000 free seats.
“The first offer was a great success, with 10,000 passengers benefiting from the offer in the first two days. Sama is now offering tickets at a unified price of only SR55.88 on any of its flights to Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Jizan,” Sama Marketing Manager Faisal Al-Duhaim said yesterday.
Passengers can benefit from the offer only if they make their reservations till tomorrow and travel between March 18 and May 15. A large number of seats were designated for this purpose.
“The idea of the SR55.88 figure is inspired by the last four digits of the telephone number of Sama’s Call Center, 920005588,” Al-Duhaim said. “This will make it easy for people to learn this telephone number as one of the main reservation lines. The figure is also close to the lowest prices offered by the company.” Sama offers various booking methods. Passengers can make reservations by visiting the company’s website at flysama.com, contacting the call center, or visiting one of Sama sales centers. Reservations can also be made through its authorized travel agents.
Al-Duhaim said: “Sama is planning to launch its first flight between Dammam and Jeddah on March 18. The company will operate three flights daily on this route. The airline will also operate three flights daily between Riyadh and Jeddah, two flights daily between Riyadh and Madinah, one flight daily between Riyadh and Jizan, two flights daily between Dammam and Jizan, one flight daily between Dammam and Madinah, two flights daily between Dammam and Riyadh, and one flight daily between Riyadh and Jizan.
The number of flights will increase gradually, and new destinations will be opened.” Sama is a budget airline offering a single class aircraft cabin equivalent to the economy class in other airlines. The company does not use paper tickets. Only the reservation number, along with the identity card, is needed to obtain a boarding card at the airport. Inflight snacks are offered for sale during flights. Sama tickets are non-refundable but reservation dates can be changed for a fee.
Headquartered in Dammam, Sama was founded in December 2005 and was granted a licence to operate by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in December 2006.
