JEDDAH: A mural competition for students — considered the first of its kind in the region — kicked off in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Middle East yesterday.
“Unleash your creativity” is the theme of the contest. The winning mural design will be chosen by a team from the UK fashion chain store, Topshop UK, for recreation and display on the walls of its flagship stores across the region.
The winner will, in addition, receive a 500 Kuwaiti dinar voucher as well as the opportunity to fly to selected stores in the region to reproduce his or her design on store walls.
The competition is open to all young students wishing to free their imagination. Applicants are allowed to submit up to three design entries each and send entries by e-mail to topshop@alshaya.com before April 31.
The winner will be notified by SMS in May and be given the opportunity to fly to Topshop stores in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Jordan to reproduce the winning design on store walls along with his or her autograph.
“With this mural competition, Topshop is extending its social involvement program to students across the region. This is an opportunity for students to expand their boundaries of creativity and be inspired by Topshop’s latest looks,” said Rana Hammoud of Topshop Middle East.
