The Syrians are forced to move in more than one village or town to arrive on the border due to reports that Syrian regime will use tough measures more than before in towns and villages protesting against the government, the sources said.
Abdulrahman Al-Ali is a Syrian businessman who could flee from Damascus after he had transferred his business and assets to Amman or Beirut.
He said the step was not easy where had paid $10,000 to a government official who issued a certificate for him saying that the Syrian is doing business services for the regime which necessitated transfer of his money.
“I was not the only person to do that but so many people and families who took their assets out of the country followed same way,” he was quoted as saying. He said administrative and financial corruption will exploit optimally this situation as the Syrian security organs were mainly concerned with the security situation rather than corruption since it is not aimed at the government.
Based on his business relations and with security officials on the Syrian border, where he paid enormous bribes for his exports or imports, the Syrian businessman said he contributed in helping so many families flee the country to Lebanon, Jordan or Turkey… but everything has its price.
He expressed belief that migrating process would increase ever than before due to uncertainty, particularly the Syrian regime is circulating information that the crisis is over after reaching a deal with Washington and that it plans to punish those who wanted to topple the regime.
The regime is also threatening to punish those who want to exploit the Kofi Annan peace plan if they organize protests and demonstrations, he said.
The situation in Syrian is gravely worrying on the back that the Syrian intelligence has recalled fighters from Quds Corp of Iran, Hezbollah and Sadr Group whereas plans are set to close Damascus to ban any protests, he said quoting officials from the Syrian Ministry of Interior. He said orders have been issued to riot police units to go into streets in civilian uniforms with similar orders given to restaurants and hotels in Damascus to cooperate with Syrian security organs.
The security plan necessitates that the army be withdrawn from certain places but to be relocated in certain strategic areas whereas security organs have to enter into villages and towns in civilian forms. Meetings were forcibly made with heads of families and sects and ordered to cooperate with security organs, he said.
He said the Syrian Army used to leave weapons and counterfeit dollars with the intention to incite sectarian strife and fighting between the people in such towns and localities.
The Syrian Army also used to commit massacres and attributed them to Free Syrian Army or Islamist groups. Some 120 pilots were killed at Izaz military base for not obeying orders to kill protesting citizens, he noted. The Syrian Army is circulating reports that Washington, Ankara and some of the GCC countries are involved in supporting the opposition with money, information and weapons, he said.
The security plan calls for collection of key planes and weapons within major government strongholds and keep them from the border areas plus expansion of buffer zones, particularly at Turkish and Jordanian borders, he said.
On bombardment of Nifintaz by canons and helicopters, the Syrian businessman said the city historically remained disloyal to Assad family, and no members of Baathist Party or security organs are there among them.
The city-dwellers, further, waged protests following the damage of Sama in 1982 and they have considerable numbers in the Syrian opposition groups. Most of them were killed, imprisoned or fled the country, he said.
Many of them were hanged or shot en-masse and the Syrian regime made no discrimination between the children and elderly people and leaders of villages and dignitaries were eliminated for rejecting any cooperation with security organs, he said. Ironically, Syrian media said the free Syrian Army were to blame for their murders and, meanwhile, Assad specialized units were formed to deal with the people of the region similar to those of the Jewish groups who committed crimes on their occupation of Palestine, he pointed out.
