BURAIDAH: Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Mishaal on Sunday chaired a meeting to study the establishment of Abdullah Al-Othaim Social City to promote and support social and charity work in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The meeting was attended by the undersecretary of region, Abdulrahman Al-Wazzan; the assistant undersecretary for development affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Saawi; businessman Abdullah Al-Othaim; and a number of government agencies that took part virtually.
Prince Faisal was briefed on the steps to establish Abdullah Al-Othaim Social City, which includes buildings, parks, pedestrian paths, gyms, and recreation halls.
He listened to an explanation from Al-Othaim about the details of the city, which aims to serve low-income people, the elderly, orphans, people with disabilities, families of prisoners, and the ill.
Al-Othaim expressed his appreciation for the governor’s follow-up, encouragement, and support for all the social work that served the region and its people.
Prince Faisal praised Al-Othaim’s initiative to establish a social city in the region, expressing his appreciation for the benevolence of the Saudi people toward promoting and developing social and charitable works.
He said that the solidarity of the Saudi people and the promotion of institutional and sustainable work that served society contributed to providing many employment opportunities and services to beneficiaries in all fields.
